According to a new report from WABetaInfo, the latest version of WhatsApp Beta for Android (version 2.24.13.14) introduces three new tabs during video calls: Filters, Backgrounds, and Effects. In the first feature, the Filters tab offers options to smooth skin texture, disguising imperfections, and a low-light mode that enhances video quality in low-light environments. These functionalities are ideal for those looking for a more refined appearance without drastically altering the image.
On the Backgrounds tab, users can choose from various scenarios to replace the current background of their video calls. This function is especially useful for those who prefer to maintain privacy or simply want to add a fun touch to the conversation.
Lastly, the Effects tab includes AR effects, similar to those found on Instagram, Facebook, Messenger, and Snapchat, such as party hats and confetti. These effects promise to make video calls much more fun and interactive.
Although these new features are currently only available in the beta version of the app, it is expected that Meta will release the new features to all users in the coming months. Stay tuned for more updates and get ready to enjoy a completely new video call experience on WhatsApp!
